Report: Russia's Yandex mulls launching mobile service

Russia's Yandex NV is considering launching a mobile virtual network operator service, Russia Business Today reported, citing sources mentioned by Kommersant.

The MVNO service would reportedly operate through Tele2 Russia Telecom's network, with users being able to switch between telecom providers. The service would be combined with a subscription to the Yandex.Plus platform, which offers unlimited access to music and movies.

Tech company Yandex said it had no immediate plans to launch an MVNO, according to the report.

In October 2019, Yandex rolled out Sloy, a short video app focused on fashion and style.
