Apollo names head of private equity business in Japan

Apollo Global Management Inc. appointed Tetsuji Okamoto as partner and head of private equity business in Japan, effective Dec. 9.

Okamoto will originate and execute deals and seek out cross-platform opportunities in Japan. He will report to Steve Martinez, senior partner and head of Asia-Pacific.

He was previously managing director at Bain Capital, and a member of the Asia-Pacific private equity team.
