Community Health closes sale of 2 hospitals

Community Health Systems Inc. completed the sale of two hospitals and their associated assets in Tennessee and Louisiana.

The company sold its Jamestown, Tenn.-based 85-bed Tennova Healthcare to Rennova Health Inc.

Leesville, La.-based 60-bed Byrd Regional Hospital was sold to Allegiance Health Management Inc.

The two healthcare facilities were sold as part of the hospital operator's planned divestiture to reduce the company's debt, as discussed during its third-quarter 2017 earnings call.
