Toyota to roll out mobility app to more Japanese cities in 2020

Toyota Motor Corp. on Jan. 15 said it will upgrade its mobility service smartphone app, My Route, and roll it out to more Japanese cities in 2020.

The Japanese carmaker will launch My Route in Yokohama and Minamata in the spring, with plans to further expand to Miyazaki and Nichinan later in the year.

My Route allows users to plan and book trips with the app, which combines bus, taxi, train, ride-hailing and car rental platforms along with a ticket reservation and payment service. The app currently operates in Fukuoka and Kitakyushu.

Toyota said it will update the app by introducing services, including exclusive tickets and discounts. My Route will also collaborate with tourist-related companies including those offering lodging, food and drink, as well as inter-city buses and travel agency-related services.
