Alibaba's AliExpress, Cainiao partner with Spain's Correos

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.'s online platform AliExpress Ltd. and its logistic arm Cainiao Smart Logistics Network Ltd. have teamed up with Spain's postal service, Correos, according to a March 22 post on the Chinese company's news site Alizila.

Under the partnership, Cainiao will work with Correos to facilitate the shipment of goods between China and Spain. Correos and Cainiao will also jointly develop new logistics strategies in Spain.

In addition, AliExpress will help small and medium-sized enterprises in Spain to sell in international markets. AliExpress' platform operates across 220 countries and regions apart from China.

The new collaboration comes a few months after Cainiao teamed up with Russian air-freight carrier Managing Co. Volga-Dnepr-Moscow LLC to enhance cross-border delivery services.

In November 2018, Alibaba also partnered with Spanish department store operator El Corte Inglés SA. The retailer was looking to allow the e-commerce giant to use its shipping capabilities and distribution centers to support AliExpress deliveries in Spain.
