Report: Ex-Renong chairman eyeing stake in Malaysia's UEM Sunrise

Former UEM Group Bhd. Executive Chairman Tan Sri Halim Saad is looking to acquire a more than 30% stake in Malaysian property developer UEM Sunrise Bhd., the New Straits Times reported.

UEM Sunrise is 66% owned by Khazanah Nasional Bhd., while Tabung Haji holds a 7.75% stake in the company.

Khazanah was earlier said to be considering selling its interest in UEM Sunrise.

UEM Sunrise CEO Anwar Syahrin Bin Abdul Ajib did not comment on the matter, the publication added.

UEM Group was previously known as Renong Bhd.
