The U.K.'s governing Conservative Party held a lead of 11 percentage points over the opposition Labour Party in an ICM poll published June 5 ahead of the June 8 election, although the gap was as little as 1 percentage points in another survey published two days earlier.
The Conservatives had 45% support, according to ICM, ahead of Labour's 34% and the Liberal Democrats' 8%. The United Kingdom Independence Party and the Greens trailed with 5% and 3% respectively.
