Walmart Inc. is opening a new Walmart Health clinic in Georgia next month to offer key health services, a company spokesperson confirmed to S&P Global Market Intelligence.
The facility in Dallas, Ga., will provide low, transparent pricing for medical services, the spokesperson said, adding that the company will share more details when the clinic opens in September.
The retail giant has launched a web page for Walmart Health, where customers can book appointments for medical, immunizations, dental, optometry, audiology and behavioral services. Clinical services cost between $59 and $99 per visit without insurance, according to the website.
Walmart is testing the concept in the Georgia site and could potentially roll out more in the future, CNBC reported, citing sources.
The company previously set up clinics inside its stores in Texas, South Carolina and Georgia, but the new Dallas clinic will be in a separate building adjacent to a Walmart store, the newswire said.
The report comes just two months after Marilee McInnis, director of Walmart's international corporate affairs, told Bloomberg News that the company is axing some jobs in its pharmacy business in the U.S. as part of a strategy to cut costs.
