American Cable Association changes name

The American Cable Association has changed its name to ACA – America's Communications Association.

The new name reflects a position for the association in the telecommunications industry, where technology is changing how information is provided to and used by consumers, according to a March 20 news release.

This is the first name change for the association in 20 years, when the association changed its name from the Small Cable Business Association to the American Cable Association. Its new day-to-day name will be ACA Connects.

The trade organization represents more than 700 smaller and medium-sized independent communications companies.
