Duncan-Williams Inc. named S.J. Guzzo managing director for debt capital markets sales and strategies.

Houlihan Lokey Inc. hired Jim McKnight as a managing director.

Jan. 29

Raymond James Financial Inc. appointed Christian Bullitt as managing director in its financial sponsors group.

Scot Morris, Alex Brand, Alicia Borghi and Barbara Wiltshire joined Raymond James' independent broker/dealer Raymond James Financial Services Inc. in Richmond, Va.

Nomura Holdings Inc. recruited 15 senior investment bankers in the U.S., including hiring Fedora Baloiu in its healthcare group and Eric Jacobs in the mergers and acquisitions group, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Capital One Financial Corp. is set to lay off 180 employees in Wilmington, Del., due to the sale of its online stock brokerage operations to E*TRADE Financial Corp.
