Sogo Medical fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Sogo Medical Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to ¥58.22 per share, compared with ¥58.63 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥840.6 million, compared with ¥846.5 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 3.1% from 3.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 7.5% year over year to ¥27.27 billion from ¥25.37 billion, and total operating expenses rose 8.0% from the prior-year period to ¥25.99 billion from ¥24.07 billion.

Reported net income came to ¥796.0 million, or ¥55.13 per share, compared to ¥800.0 million, or ¥55.41 per share, in the year-earlier period.

As of Feb. 9, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.60.
