Vanstar: IAMGOLD kicks off 6,000-meter drill program at Nelligan project

Vanstar Mining Resources Inc. on Jan. 26 said IAMGOLD Corp. kicked off a 6,000-meter drill program at the Nelligan gold project in Quebec.

Drilling will test the lateral and down-depth extensions of the mineralized zones intersected to the north of the Liam zone as well as some geophysical anomalies located east and north of the zone. The program will also possibly verify the extensions of the Liam and Dan zones.

IAMGOLD is earning an 80% stake in the Nelligan project under an earn-in and joint venture agreement with Vanstar.

Additionally, Vanstar also completed a 500-meter drill hole on the Emile project located on the east border of Nelligan. The hole intersected many faults as well as some mineralized and silicified zones, with assay results to be announced as they become available.

Vanstar also noted that the 2016 drill program achieved its objectives and the company is awaiting results.
