Tokai Rika Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 came to ¥50.62 per share, a decrease of 13.7% from ¥58.66 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥4.61 billion, a decrease of 13.3% from ¥5.32 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin declined to 3.9% from 4.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased year over year to ¥118.47 billion from ¥113.56 billion, and total operating expenses increased 5.4% year over year to ¥110.48 billion from ¥104.79 billion.
Reported net income rose 26.8% year over year to ¥3.54 billion, or ¥38.91 per share, from ¥2.79 billion, or ¥30.84 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥208.47 per share, compared with ¥208.24 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥18.94 billion, compared with ¥18.87 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue rose year over year to ¥452.19 billion from ¥437.81 billion, and total operating expenses rose on an annual basis to ¥421.00 billion from ¥407.69 billion.
The company said reported net income grew 14.3% on an annual basis to ¥19.73 billion, or ¥217.12 per share, in the full year, from ¥17.26 billion, or ¥190.51 per share.
