Amaya Leisure fiscal Q4 profit falls YOY

Amaya Leisure PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was 1.57 Sri Lankan rupees per share, a decline of 17.9% from 1.92 rupees per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 81.5 million rupees, a decline of 18.1% from 99.5 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 21.4% from 28.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 7.9% on an annual basis to 380.4 million rupees from 352.6 million rupees, and total operating expenses grew 28.4% on an annual basis to 288.8 million rupees from 225.0 million rupees.

Reported net income decreased 23.3% year over year to 103.6 million rupees, or 2.00 rupees per share, from 135.0 million rupees, or 2.60 rupees per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 3.63 rupees per share, a fall of 28.3% from 5.06 rupees per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 188.4 million rupees, a decline of 28.3% from 262.6 million rupees in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue grew 20.3% on an annual basis to 1.40 billion rupees from 1.16 billion rupees, and total operating expenses increased 46.4% on an annual basis to 1.11 billion rupees from 757.9 million rupees.

The company said reported net income declined 39.4% on an annual basis to 227.9 million rupees, or 4.39 rupees per share, in the full year, from 376.2 million rupees, or 7.25 rupees per share.

As of May 29, US$1 was equivalent to 133.88 Sri Lankan rupees.
