Prolexus fiscal Q2 profit climbs 15.3% YOY

Prolexus Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Jan. 31 amounted to 5 Malaysian sen per share, a gain of 12.5% from 4 sen per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 5.2 million ringgits, an increase of 15.3% from 4.5 million ringgits in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 5.2% from 5.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 19.0% on an annual basis to 99.9 million ringgits from 83.9 million ringgits, and total operating expenses climbed 18.8% from the prior-year period to 89.0 million ringgits from 74.9 million ringgits.

Reported net income increased on an annual basis to 7.0 million ringgits, or 6 sen per share, from 6.9 million ringgits, or 6 sen per share.

As of March 28, US$1 was equivalent to 4.01 ringgits.
