Meito Sangyo Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 amounted to a loss of ¥7.29 per share, compared with a loss of ¥6.18 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥122.5 million, compared with a loss of ¥103.8 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to negative 2.6% from negative 2.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 5.0% year over year to ¥4.71 billion from ¥4.49 billion, and total operating expenses grew 5.7% year over year to ¥4.96 billion from ¥4.69 billion.
Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥32.0 million, or a loss of ¥1.91 per share, compared to a loss of ¥15.0 million, or a loss of 89 sen per share, in the prior-year period.
As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.46.
