Devon Energy COO resigns; executive vice president to take over COO duties

Devon Energy Corp. said Tony Vaughn stepped down as COO and as a member of the oil and gas company's executive committee Sept. 11.

Vaughn will still be with the company in a special advisory capacity for a transition period before he retires in the first half of 2020, according to a Sept. 16 SEC filing.

In connection with the departure, Devon Energy promoted David Harris to executive vice president of exploration and production from senior vice president of exploration and production. Harris will take over Vaughn's responsibilities and duties as COO.

Devon Energy is an independent exploration and production company focused onshore in the U.S.
