Industrial producer prices advanced by 0.4% in the euro area in October as energy prices surged, but the rate of inflation was down from the revised 0.5% rise in the previous month, Eurostat said.
The month-on-month increase came as energy prices rose by 1.3% and intermediate goods added 0.3%. Prices held steady for both capital and durable consumer goods while nondurable consumer goods edged down 0.1%.
Excluding energy, prices moved up 0.1% in October.
In annual terms, October industrial producer prices increased by 2.5%, down from the 2.9% growth registered in September, Eurostat said.
