Atlantic American reports $3.5M operating loss in Q4'17

Atlantic American Corp. reported fourth-quarter 2017 operating loss of $3.5 million, compared with operating income of $290,000, in the prior-year quarter.

Net income for the quarter was $2.5 million, or 12 cents per share, an increase from $1.3 million, or 6 cents per share, in the prior-year quarter.

For full year 2017, operating loss was $3.8 million, compared with operating income of $929,000 in 2016.

Net income was $4.5 million, or 20 cents per share, for 2017, up from $2.6 million, or 11 cents per share, in 2016.
