Dollar General Corp. shareholders at the May 31 annual meeting elected eight directors to the discount retailer's board, according to a June 1 SEC filing.

Warren Bryant, Michael Calbert, Sandra Cochran, Patricia Fili-Krushel, Paula Price, William Rhodes III, David Rickard and Todd Vasos were elected as directors to serve until the company's annual meeting in 2018.

The shareholders also ratified the appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as the company's independent accounting firm for fiscal 2017.
