Chairman of National Capital Bank of Washington, Cooperative Bank dies

Thomas Barnes, who was concurrently chairman of both the boards of Washington, D.C.-based National Capital Bank of Washington and Roslindale, Mass.-based Cooperative Bank, has died, according to a June 9 news release.

Barnes was appointed chairman of National Capital Bank of Washington in May 2016. He was also a former deputy director of the Office of Thrift Supervision, where he served for more than 20 years.
