German price-adjusted new orders in manufacturing decreased in April by 2.1% month on month after seasonal adjustments, provisional data by the Federal Statistical Office showed June 7.

Domestic orders decreased by 0.2% and foreign orders fell by 3.4% from the previous month.

New orders from the euro area were down 1.4%, and new orders from other countries decreased 4.8% compared to March, the preliminary results showed.

Price-adjusted turnover in manufacturing in April was up 1.3% on the previous month.

An IHS Markit report said separately that Germany's manufacturing purchasing managers' index in May expanded at the fastest pace in six years.
