Board moves through March 9

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents an overview of board changes at European financial institutions. The changes are listed by announcement date in reverse chronological order.

March 9

* Eurobank Ergasias SA said Androniki Boumi will remain on the board as a nonexecutive member, after her designation as Greece's representative to the bank's board expired when the lender determined that it is no longer subject to state support.

* Christopher Steane resigned as member of ING Bank Slaski SA's supervisory board, effective April 5.

* Craig Heimark, Erhard Schipporeit and Johannes Witt will step down from Deutsche Börse AG's supervisory board at the May 16 annual general meeting. Monica Mächler will also not stand for another term, while Ann-Kristin Achleitner will serve for a one-year period on the supervisory board until the 2019 annual general meeting. Martin Jetter, Barbara Lambert and Joachim Nagel will be nominated to join as new members of the supervisory board.

* PZU SA said Robert Jastrzebski joined its supervisory board.

* Japan-based Nomura Holdings Inc. named Neeta Atkar a nonexecutive director of Nomura Europe Holdings Plc.

March 8

* César Alierta resigned as independent and nonexecutive director of Mediobanca - Banca di Credito Finanziario SpA.

* Michal Kedzia resigned March 7 as supervisory board member of Poland-based X-Trade Brokers Dom Maklerski SA, a unit of XXZW Investment Group SA, for unknown reasons. The company named Marek Strugala a new member of the board.

* Zurich Insurance Group AG will propose to appoint Jasmin Staiblin to the board for a one-year term at the April 4 annual general meeting. Vice Chairman Fred Kindle and board member Susan Bies are meanwhile set to retire at the conclusion of the AGM.

* The board of Partners Group AG will propose to elect Steffen Meister as chairman during the company's annual general meeting May 9. Meister, who was CEO of Partners Group from 2005 to 2013, will replace Peter Wuffli, who has chaired the Switzerland-based global private markets investment manager since 2014. Meanwhile, the board will propose that Wuffli be re-elected to the board and appointed vice chairman.

* Shawbrook Group Plc named John Callender its new chairman, replacing Iain Cornish, who left the role after serving for three years.

March 7

* Sweden's Resurs Holding AB (publ) proposed to elect Mikael Wintzell as a new member of the board during the company's April 27 annual general meeting.

* Luc Argand decided not to renew his term as member of the board of Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) SA at the April 24 general meeting. He will remain a board member at parent Edmond de Rothschild Holding SA. Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) will propose to appoint to its board the current vice-chairman at Edmond de Rothschild (Europe), François Pauly.

* Vozrozhdenie Bank shareholders elected a new, 12-member board of directors for the lender. The board includes Anton Averin, Murat Aliev, Ruslan Babaev, Tamjid Basunia, Vladimir Kuznetsov, Maxim Mescheryakov, Maxim Orlovsky, Alexander Sidorov, Alexander Fedorov, as well as Mark Nakhmanovich, Natalia Shabunina and Evgeny Pavlov, who serve as chairman and deputy chairs of the lender's management board, respectively.

* Karlovacka banka dd said Nedjeljko Strikic, Bernarda Ivšic, Željko Tintor, Ana Kirincic and Mate Crkvenac became members of the lender's supervisory board Feb. 16. The bank also said Nedjeljko Strikic was appointed president of the supervisory board.

March 6

* Norway's Storebrand ASA will nominate Liv Sandbæk as a new member of the board at its April 11 annual general meeting.

* U.K.-based asset manager Intermediate Capital Group PLC named Andrew Sykes a nonexecutive director, effective March 21.

* The board of VP Bank AG will propose at the company's April 27 annual general meeting the election to its ranks of Thomas Meier.

March 5

* Equiniti Group Plc named Alison Burns an independent nonexecutive director, effective April 1. At the same time, Vicky Jarman will retire as an independent nonexecutive director during the annual general meeting in May. She will be replaced by Darren Pope as senior independent director.

* Czech Republic-based VIG RE zajištovna AS said Dušan Bogdanovic will step down from its board to head its new foreign operations unit, effective April 1.

* Euromoney Institutional Investor Plc appointed Colin Day an independent nonexecutive director of the board.
