Parkson Holdings Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to 5 Malaysian sen per share, an increase of 9.3% from 4 sen per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 48.7 million ringgits, an increase of 9.7% from 44.4 million ringgits in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 4.5% from 4.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew year over year to 1.07 billion ringgits from 1.03 billion ringgits, and total operating expenses grew year over year to 1.01 billion ringgits from 961.3 million ringgits.
Reported net income increased on an annual basis to 110.7 million ringgits, or 10 sen per share, from 25.6 million ringgits, or 2 sen per share.
As of Feb. 26, US$1 was equivalent to 3.60 ringgits.
