Calpine Corp. is proposing to become the sole owner of the 615-MW Russell City Energy Center in Hayward, Calif.
Calpine on Dec. 10 filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission seeking to acquire the remaining 25% stake in the facility it does not yet own from a subsidiary of General Electric Co.
The natural gas-fired combined-cycle generation facility supplies power to PG&E Corp. utility Pacific Gas and Electric Co. under a long-term tolling agreement.
Calpine asked the commission to approve the proposed transaction by Jan. 23, 2020. (FERC docket EC20-23)
