Volkswagen AG on Sept. 11 said it delivered 493,800 Volkswagen-branded vehicles worldwide in August, down 3.8% year over year on weaker global demand.
The German carmaker saw deliveries in Europe drop 9.9% year over year to 119,500 vehicles, with deliveries in Germany down 10.9% at 38,700 vehicles.
Asia-Pacific deliveries dropped 3% to 263,900 automobiles, with China deliveries falling 1.6% to 252,700 vehicles sold.
Meanwhile, North America sales climbed 2.9% year over year to 52,900 vehicles, with U.S. deliveries jumping 9.8% to 35,400 vehicles. However, Volkswagen saw deliveries drop 12.4% year over year in Mexico to 10,600 units.
Volkswagen also reported a 2.7% growth in the South American region with 46,200 vehicles sold.
