AMC Networks Inc. is planning to launch an ad-free streaming service aimed at millennial TV consumers, Reuters reported, citing two sources with knowledge of the matter.
The planned streaming service that could cost between $4.99 and $6.99 a month would be available only to customers who subscribe to a cable TV package, according to the March 24 report. It would not be a stand-alone OTT service such as Time Warner Inc.-owned HBO Now or CBS Corp.'s CBS All Access.
AMC may feature digital-only spinoff shows of its existing programs like "The Walking Dead" on the service, the publication reported. Sources noted that details are still being sorted out.
