Arlington Asset Investment files mixed shelf

Arlington Asset Investment Corp. filed a registration statement related to the sale of certain securities from time to time for a proposed maximum aggregate offering price of $750 million.

The filing covers class A common stock, preferred stock, preferred stock purchase rights, depositary shares, debt securities, warrants, purchase contracts, units and subscription rights.

The company intends to use the net proceeds for the acquisition of certain target assets, including agency mortgage-backed securities, private-label mortgage-backed securities, residential mortgage loans, commercial mortgage-backed securities, commercial mortgage loans, residential mortgage loans for investor properties, or other types of assets. Arlington Asset Investment may also use the proceeds for other general corporate purposes such as repayment of outstanding debt, for the pursuit of growth initiatives that may include acquisitions, and for working capital and liquidity needs.
