Tyson Foods opens automation center in Arkansas

Tyson Foods Inc. said Aug. 8 that the company opened a new automation center in downtown Springdale, Ark.

The Tyson Manufacturing Automation Center, which spans 26,000 square feet, will enhance the company's automation and robotics in food production.

The company said it plans to use the facility to develop new manufacturing solutions and collaborate with its information technology team and equipment suppliers.

It will also use the center to train team members on new technology.

The Arkansas-based meat processor said it has invested more than $215 million in automation and robotics in the last five years.
