Amaya Leisure PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 came to 21 Sri Lankan cents per share, a decrease of 60.5% from 53 cents per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 10.8 million rupees, a decrease of 60.5% from 27.2 million rupees in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin declined to 4.1% from 13.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 25.7% year over year to 261.5 million rupees from 208.1 million rupees, and total operating expenses rose 60.1% from the prior-year period to 257.0 million rupees from 160.5 million rupees.
Reported net income came to a loss of 2.2 million rupees, or a loss of 4 cents per share, compared to income of 40.3 million rupees, or 78 cents per share, in the year-earlier period.
As of July 28, US$1 was equivalent to 130.22 Sri Lankan rupees.
