Vibrant CU/Infinity FCU merger talks terminated

A proposed merger between Moline, Ill.-based Vibrant CU and Westbrook, Maine-based Infinity FCU has been terminated.

Infinity FCU President and CEO Elizabeth Hayes informed the credit union's members that the merger talks ended "amicably."

"[T]he merger process brought some important differences to light and it became evident that the integration was simply not a good fit," Hayes said. "While combining resources with another credit union is at times an excellent strategy, Infinity FCU is in the fortunate position of being independently strong and able to be selective in choosing a merger partner."
