Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was 24.84 Indian rupees per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 25.48 rupees per share.
EPS rose 17.4% year over year from 21.15 rupees.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 806.3 million rupees, an increase of 17.4% from 686.6 million rupees in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 12.5% from 12.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 12.9% on an annual basis to 6.44 billion rupees from 5.71 billion rupees, and total operating expenses climbed 9.6% from the prior-year period to 5.30 billion rupees from 4.84 billion rupees.
Reported net income rose 18.4% year over year to 906.6 million rupees, or 27.93 rupees per share, from 765.7 million rupees, or 23.59 rupees per share.
As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to 62.03 Indian rupees.
