New Hua Du Supercenter Q2 loss narrows YOY

New Hua Du Supercenter Co. Ltd. said its second-quarter normalized net income amounted to a loss of 4.1 million yuan, compared with a loss of 29.7 million yuan in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin rose to 0.6% from negative 2.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled 1.50 billion yuan, compared with 1.50 billion yuan in the prior-year period, and total operating expenses declined from the prior-year period to 1.50 billion yuan from 1.54 billion yuan.

Reported net income came to 1.7 million yuan, or 0 fen per share, compared to a loss of 40.9 million yuan, or a loss of 8 fen per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Aug. 18, US$1 was equivalent to 6.63 yuan.
