Flying Garden fiscal Q3 profit climbs YOY

Flying Garden Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, was ¥17.30 per share, an increase from ¥3.03 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥25.0 million, a gain from ¥4.4 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 1.4% from 0.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed year over year to ¥1.76 billion from ¥1.74 billion, and total operating expenses came to ¥1.73 billion, compared with ¥1.73 billion in the year-earlier period.

Reported net income came to ¥16.0 million, or ¥11.07 per share, compared to a loss of ¥6.0 million, or a loss of ¥4.15 per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Feb. 12, US$1 was equivalent to ¥112.83.
