Brazilian payment processor PagSeguro Internet Ltda. is thinking about an initial public offering in New York during the first quarter of 2018, Reuters reported, citing "two people with knowledge of the matter."
Universo Online SA, the Brazilian media group that controls PagSeguro, is still deciding whether it will list the company's shares on the New York Stock Exchange or Nasdaq, the newswire's sources said.
PagSeguro, which competes with local credit card processing firms like Cielo SA and Redecard SA, has reportedly been in IPO discussions with Goldman Sachs since earlier in 2017.
PagSeguro may tap other banks to assist with the potential listing once a date and venue is decided, the sources added.
