Simmons First shareholders to consider share increase

Shareholders of Simmons First National Corp. are set to tackle a number of matters during the annual meeting on April 19, including considering an amendment to the company's articles of incorporation to increase the number of authorized shares of class A, 1 cent par value, common stock from 120 million to 175 million.

Shareholders of the Pine Bluff, Ark.-based company will also vote to fix at 15 the number of directors to be elected at the meeting, according to a Feb. 16 notice to shareholders recently obtained by S&P Global Market Intelligence.
