United Bank for Africa appoints execs

Pan-African financial institution United Bank for Africa PLC named Oliver Alawuba CEO of UBA Africa and Chiugo Ndubuisi as group executive director and group COO.

Alawuba most recently ran the group's East Bank division in Nigeria and succeeds Victor Osadolor, who is retiring from the group's board.

Additionally, United Bank for Africa appointed Chukwuma Nweke as group executive director for retail and payments and Abdoul-Aziz Dia as executive director for treasury and international banking. Dia will oversee the company's operations in New York, London and Paris.

The appointments are subject to approval by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
