Deutsche names local corporate bank head; duo joins UBS alternative capital team

Deutsche Bank

* Deutsche Bank AG appointed Stefan Bender head of its corporate bank in Germany, effective Oct. 1.

Bender joined Deutsche Bank in 1997 and was most recently head of commercial clients in Germany for the lender's private and commercial banking division, the bank said. He will report to Stefan Hoops, global head of corporate banking.

UBS Group

* UBS Group AG appointed Simona Maellare and Matt Eilers co-heads of its alternative capital group as part of management changes at the Swiss lender's investment bank, a person familiar with the matter told the Financial News.

Credit Suisse Group

* Credit Suisse Group AG appointed Andrew Singer, Lorenzo Paoletti and Liav Abraham as managing directors for its healthcare investment banking division, Reuters reported, citing an internal memo. All three individuals will reportedly join the Swiss bank this autumn.

Singer previously worked at Wells Fargo & Co., while Paoletti will be joining from Royal Bank of Canada and will focus on the biopharmaceutical sector at Credit Suisse. Abraham was part of Citigroup Inc., working as an equity research analyst covering specialty pharmaceuticals, according to the newswire.

Barclays

* Barclays PLC named Ben Waterhouse head of savings, investments and wealth management distribution, Citywire reported. Waterhouse was global head of digital fund services at Fidelity UK.

Aberdeen Diversified Income and Growth Trust

* Aberdeen Diversified Income and Growth Trust PLC said Jim Grover retired as a director of the firm, effective Sept. 6.

Principality Building Society

* Principality Building Society named Debra Williams nonexecutive director of the board. Williams has held board level positions at several financial institutions, including Admiral Group PLC and Tesco Bank.
