Alterra Bank begins operating as First Business Bank; names president, CEO

Leawood, Kan.-based Alterra Bank changed its name to First Business Bank, effective June 1. The name change took effect nearly five months after First Business Financial Services Inc. announced its intent to consolidate the charters of its three subsidiary banks Madison, Wis.-based First Business Bank; Brookfield, Wis.-based First Business Bank-Milwaukee; and Alterra Bank.

Of First Business Financial Services' 14 locations in the U.S., Alterra Bank was the only location operating outside the First Business brand, according to a press release.

Corresponding with the charter consolidation and name change, Rob Barker, Kansas City Region president, takes on the role of president and CEO at the Leawood, Kan.-based First Business Bank from David Seiler, who began serving on an interim basis in October 2016.
