Nippon BS Broadcasting fiscal Q1 profit climbs 10.8% YOY

Nippon BS Broadcasting Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended Nov. 30, 2015, was ¥21.70 per share, a gain of 10.8% from ¥19.59 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥386.3 million, a gain of 10.8% from ¥348.8 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 15.7% from 16.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 16.3% on an annual basis to ¥2.47 billion from ¥2.12 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 18.4% from the prior-year period to ¥1.85 billion from ¥1.56 billion.

Reported net income increased 20.4% year over year to ¥430.0 million, or ¥24.15 per share, from ¥357.0 million, or ¥20.05 per share.
