Alpen Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to ¥25.72 per share, a decline of 32.9% from ¥38.35 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.04 billion, a decline of 32.9% from ¥1.55 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 1.9% from 3.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew on an annual basis to ¥54.82 billion from ¥52.58 billion, and total operating expenses increased 6.0% year over year to ¥53.52 billion from ¥50.49 billion.
Reported net income declined 33.9% year over year to ¥798.0 million, or ¥19.71 per share, from ¥1.21 billion, or ¥29.81 per share.
As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.68.
