Wall Street moves: RBC adding 2 i-bankers, Cowen names biotech analyst

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a weekly rundown of selected executive management changes among the major Wall Street investment banks and other notable moves. The changes are listed by announcement date in reverse chronological order.

Sept. 5

RBC Capital Markets LLC is adding investment bankers Eric Steifman, who will work as co-head of banks and specialty finance, and Asad Kazim, who will join as co-head of U.S. real estate. Steifman most recently worked with BlackRock Inc., while Kazim earlier worked with UBS Securities LLC.


Stifel Financial Corp. added Christopher Auld and Henry Lang to its leveraged finance platform, and Roger Gilbert and Peter Lapina to its fixed income platform. Auld and Lang joined from Jefferies Group LLC, while Gilbert and Lapina came from Guggenheim Securities LLC.

Sept. 4

Cowen Inc. added Yaron Werber as a senior biotechnology analyst to the company's equity research team. Werber will join from Ovid Therapeutics Inc.


Five advisers joined Janney Montgomery Scott LLC from Wells Fargo Advisors, InvestmentNews reported. The advisers managed more than $445 million in combined client assets at the Wells Fargo & Co. unit.


Three financial advisers from UBS Financial Services Inc., Merrill Lynch and Wells Fargo & Co., overseeing $520 million in combined client assets, joined Stifel Nicolaus & Co. Inc., InvestmentNews reported.


Morgan Stanley named Paul Halpern head of deposits and banking services for the private banking group. Halpern joined from Betterment.


GAIN Capital Holdings Inc. named Alex Howard managing director for Asia-Pacific, excluding China. Howard previously worked with IG Group Holdings PLC.


Moelis & Co. is hiring Matt Chlystek as managing director from JPMorgan Chase & Co. to advise food and agribusiness clients. Chlystek will join Moelis in November.


Lockton Inc., in partnership with Antarctica Capital LLC, has launched Lockton Capital Markets, an operation that will help with investment banking and capital markets transactions, focusing on the convergence between insurance and alternative capital. Vishal Jhaveri will serve as CEO of Lockton Capital Markets. Jhaveri previously worked with Citigroup Inc.


Cowen Inc. named Bobby Croswell managing director and head of business development in its outsourced trading group. Croswell earlier worked at BTIG.

Aug. 31

Evercore Inc. added Eduard Kostadinov to its investment banking team as a senior managing director in its advisory practice based in Frankfurt. Kostadinov most recently worked with Morgan Stanley.

Aug. 30

Ameriprise Financial Inc. hired an adviser team from Wells Fargo Clearing Services LLC, InvestmentNews reported.


Patriot Financial Group Insurance Agency LLC, a company with $650 million in total client assets, joined Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc. unit Securities America Financial Corp.'s platform.

Aug. 29

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. has hired Benjamin Wallace from JPMorgan Chase, Business Insider reported. At JPMorgan, he was a managing director.
