The Russian Deposit Insurance Agency took a more than 99.9% stake in PAO Promsvyazbank by acquiring shares for a total of 113.4 billion Russian rubles.
In line with the earlier decision of the Russian central bank, which bailed out the lender in December 2017, the DIA will also provide Promsvyazbank with financial assistance, which will help it comply with capital requirements, the bank noted March 29. Promsvyazbank will be later transferred into the government ownership and will specialize in providing services to Russian defense sector companies.
As of March 28, US$1 was equivalent to 57.66 Russian rubles.
