Longtime German-American State Bank president/CEO to retire

German-American State Bank President and CEO Jeffrey Sterling will retire from his positions in the second quarter of 2020.

Sterling will stay with the German Valley, Ill.-based bank until the second quarter of 2022 to ensure a smooth transition, according to a news release. He joined the bank in 1999 and was named president and CEO in 2007.

German-American State Bank is a unit of Winnebago, Ill.-based Foresight Financial Group Inc.
