Consumer Portfolio Services closes $274.3M securitization

Consumer Portfolio Services Inc. closed a $274.3 million senior subordinate asset-backed securitization.

The transaction involved the sale of $118.3 million of 2.17% class A notes, $47.3 million of 2.35% class B notes, $40.3 million of 2.54% class C notes, $34.2 million of 2.72% class D notes, $29.0 million of 3.86% class E notes, and $5.2 million of 6.55% class F notes.

Qualified institutional buyers purchased the asset-backed notes, which are secured by $275 million in automobile receivables originated by the company.

The transaction uses a pre-funding structure, in which the company sold about $176.7 million of receivables at inception and plans to sell about $98.3 million of additional receivables in November.
