Maybank Kim Eng Securities denies speculation on Thai regulator warning

Maybank Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) PCL clarified that CEO Montree Sornpaisarn had not been warned by Thailand's securities regulator regarding the company's internal controls.

The company said June 5 that it had checked with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand and found that the regulator had never warned or imposed any punishment as was claimed in media reports.

In addition, the company said there has not been any ruling with regard to a defamation suit between a former executive of the company and Maybank Kim Eng. The court has only conducted a preliminary hearing and accepted the claim for further examination.
