Electrolux, Google expand smart appliances partnership

AB Electrolux (publ) said Aug. 30 that it expanded its partnership with Alphabet Inc.-owned search engine giant Google LLC on smart appliances with the integration of Google Assistant into Electrolux's connected kitchen products in Europe.

The move will allow customers to control products using voice commands, the Swedish home-appliances maker said. The voice integration will start with its smart ovens in early 2019.

The partnership builds on the alliance Electrolux and Google formed in 2017, when Electrolux's U.S. arm integrated Google Assistant into its Frigidaire and Anova brands.
