BlueRock Diamonds sees Kareevlei production dip in October due to heavy rain

BlueRock Diamonds Plc said Oct. 10 that production at its Kareevlei diamond mine in South Africa early in the month was disrupted by rain, with October volumes expected to be lower than the ones achieved in September.

The company remains on track to start processing the first of the Level 2 kimberlite in October, from which it expects a further improvement in grade compared with Level 1 material. The Level 2 kimberlite production is not expected to be included in the October diamond tender.

BlueRock achieved its target volume production of 1,250 tonnes per day in April.

In the latest statement, BlueRock said production continued to improve and rose to 22,010 tonnes in September from 20,929 tonnes in August, adding that Kareevlei broke even in September at the operational level.
