Tahoe restarts mining operations at La Arena after resolution with protesters

Tahoe Resources Inc. restarted mining operations at its La Arena gold mine in Peru following an agreement to end a protest at the site.

The protesters on Sept. 6 agreed to participate in formal discussions with Tahoe starting Sept. 7. The Ministry of Energy and Mines will host the talks.

Tahoe said Sept. 7 that it expects La Arena to meet the lower end of its annual production guidance of 160,000 to 185,000 ounces of gold as a result of the eight-day suspension related to the protest and a labor strike in the second quarter.
