Judge dismisses 'boys' club'-related suit against Citi

U.S. District Judge Richard Sullivan on Feb. 6 dismissed Erin Daly's lawsuit against Citigroup Inc., where she used to work as a financial adviser and which she accused of having a "culture of gender discrimination" where "the boys were in charge," Reuters reported.

The federal judge in Manhattan said that because she had agreed to arbitrate them, most of her claims did not belong in federal court. Sullivan also took note of the length of time that it took for Daly to accuse Citi of firing her in retaliation for whistleblowing activity.

Daly had said that the New York-based bank treated her as a "glorified secretary," alleging that Citi had "boys' club" policies.

A lawyer for the plaintiff, as well as a Citi spokeswoman, did not comment on the matter, according to Reuters.
